College of Engineering

The University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Engineering is a college within the university. Originally founded in 1914 as the Agricultural Engineering Department, it was renamed the Department of Engineering in 1938, renamed the Division of Engineering in 1945, renamed the School of Engineering in 1947, and renamed the Department of Engineering in 1984 or 1985. Sometime after 1995, it was upgraded to a college and became the College of Engineering.
