Take Off

Like many other universities, the campus at Massachusetts State College (now UMass Amherst) was used during the Second World War as a training ground for military personnel. In 1943 and 1944, the 58th College Training Detachment (Air Crew) of the U.S. Army Air Forces published the newspaper, Take Off. The run of this newspaper is not quite complete and is somewhat irregularly numbered: issues for Mar. 27-April 10, 1943 numbered v.1, no.2-v.1,no.3; issue for April 17, 1943 numbered v.1, no. 5. Digital files are hosted on the Internet Archive.
