Graduate School

The University of Massachusetts Amherst Graduate School is an institution of the university that was founded in 1908, even though the first degree was offered in 1892 and awarded in 1896, with the first course being organized in 1893. In 1950, the school was separated from the Experiment Station

Since its founding, it has awarded more than 13,500 doctoral and 46,800 masters degrees, with 1,400 faculty members working in 51 doctorate and 73 masters programs. In the fall of 2012, enrollment in graduate programs exceeded 5,700, with an additional 500 non-matriculated students enrolled in classes at the University.
