Ephemera is a catch all term used to describe a wide range of material that was printed, but never intended to be preserved for the long term. The McIntosh Collection is eagerly seeking menus, advertising stands, trade cards, postcards, calling cards, letterheads, boxes, and other artifacts produced by food producers, distributors, retailers and restaurants for its collections.

Like the “corporate cookbooks” in the collection, ephemera was often produced to catch the eye, and as a result, interesting graphics often accompany information about the product.
